The
KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer is 325 watts of
power with 10 speeds and a flat beater for making batter, a wire whip for
eggs and a hook for kneading dough. There is a pouring shield and the 5-quart
stainless steel bowl locks into the base during use. Choose from a
variety of colors including gloss cinnamon, green apple, buttercup,
almond cream, ice or metallic chrome.
Whatever you mix, the KitchenAid Artisan 5-Quart Stand Mixer can handle them all with its 325-watt motor, while the 5-quart stainless steel bowl can hold large batches of mixtures. It has 67 different points of mixing as it generates a systematic blending of ingredients so you dont have to rotate the bowl. With 10 speeds to choose from, you can also select the ideal speed for your mixing needs.
Also included is a flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip for added versatility of the mixer. Easy to clean, you can easily get the mixture with its tilt-back head and also for convenience of adding the ingredients. Pros: What is there not to like...It's the best thing I've bought for ages
Cons: Expensive...but soooooo worth it. I have absolutely no regrets with spending my money on this
Overall: I've had this for a week now and I just can't stop wanting to play with it. Even when I'm at work, I'm thinking about going home and baking something, anything. Usually when you buy something this expensive, you're a little apprehensive. You think, is this really worth it or am I just throwing hard earned money away because I could just go to my local Harvey Norman and purchase a Breville, Sunbeam or Kenwood for half the price. But then it arrives at your doorstep (I bought mine online because it was over $100 cheaper than the RRP...or what David Jones has priced it) and you play with it for the first time, all your apprehension just melts away. I've played with a sunbeam mixer over the Christmas Holidays at the mother-in-laws house and now I've played with my Kitchenaid. Let me tell you Good People, my Kitchenaid is soooooo much better than my mother-in-laws sunbeam. While she was teaching me how to make a sponge cake, she couldn't stop complaining about her stand mixer. She even said "she'll give me hers" and as generous as she was, I was secretly saying to myself "no way, give it to my sister-in-law (who was also there)...I'm buying a Kitchenaid". Now Hubby and I are in the process of purchasing one for her birthday, and waiting for one of the colours to be available before ordering it. If you're thinking of buying Kitchenaid, then do it. You will have no regrets and sometimes, it is just plain commonsense to spend more time on saving more money, if it means you can buy the best product on the market.

Pros: Quality, power, reliability.
Cons: Expensive...but you get what you pay for.
Overall: If you want a mixer that will outlast YOU, buy one of these! The quality of manufacture is incredible; this is the sort of thing that used to be commonplace 50 years ago but is rarer than hens' teeth today. I use my mixer nearly every day, for everything from pizza dough to cupcakes, as well as using the mincer attachment to grind my own beef and pork mince for making sausages. The KitchenAid mixer is also a work of art in it's own right. Buy one: you'll love it.
